Morning Meditation: Immigration and Welcome - Biblical Insight
Dear God of Love and Justice,
As I pause to reflect on the theme of Immigration and Welcome, I am drawn to the poignant words of Jesus in Luke 4:18-19, where He declares His mission: “to proclaim good news to the poor, to proclaim freedom for the prisoners, and recovery of sight for the blind.” These words remind us that Your heart beats for the marginalized, the oppressed, and those who seek refuge.
Imagine a weary traveler, perhaps a mother cradling her child, crossing borders in search of safety and a fresh start. Picture the anxiety etched on her face, the uncertainty of what lies ahead. In those moments, we are called not merely to observe but to embody Your compassionate response. Guide us, Lord, to see this not as a distant issue, but as a divine invitation to be Your hands and feet—a light piercing the shadows of fear and division.
Let us consider how our community might open its arms wider—offering shelter to the weary, a meal to the hungry, and a listening ear to those who carry stories of heartbreak and hope. May our actions reflect Your character, transforming our streets into avenues of justice and our hearts into sanctuaries of love.
