No Night There: Ten Absences in Eternal Glory
Revelation 21:25 declares an astonishing reality: "There shall be no night there." This simple statement carries profound theological weight across ten dimensions of our eternal existence.
First, consider what night represents in Scripture. Night is the season of repose, yet also the time chosen for deeds of darkness and sin. Night brings fear, sorrow, and obscurity—the emblem of mental confusion where mystery surrounds us.
In the New Jerusalem, all these nocturnal conditions cease entirely. There will be no night of sin, for perfect purity characterizes our eternal home. There will be no night of suffering, ignorance, infirmities, or mysterious providences that perplex us now. The hindered prayers and disappointed expectations that mark earthly existence vanish completely.
Most remarkably, the large portion of our existence that sleep now consumes will be added to our peaceful, blissful occupations. We shall know no weariness, no fatigue, no separation from loved ones, and no temptation whatsoever.
The unclouded day replaces all darkness. Where questions now arise to which we return no complete answer, full knowledge awaits. Where we now labor under burdens and endure change and mortality, eternal constancy and life reign supreme. The glorified Church experiences no death—only the perpetual illumination of Elohim's presence, where the Lamb Himself is the light eternal.
