Practical Kingdom - Teaching Material
As we reflect on the powerful words of Galatians 5:22-23, let’s consider how each of the fruits of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—calls us to respond meaningfully in our communities. Picture a neighborhood park that has fallen into disrepair; weeds are choking the flower beds, and the playground equipment stands neglected. What if we, as a church, committed to restoring that space, not just physically but spiritually?
This week, I challenge you to engage with your local community in a tangible way. Perhaps you could organize a “Community Clean-Up Day,” bringing families together to pull weeds, plant flowers, and share not just labor but also conversations about faith. Imagine a child, covered in dirt, laughing alongside you as you explain how God's hesed—His steadfast love—compels us to care for the places we inhabit.
As you take action, let prayer be the foundation of every effort. Each morning, ask God to guide you toward those who need kindness, whether it's a neighbor battling loneliness or a local organization providing meals to the hungry.
Additionally, identify a resource or organization that embodies the fruits of the Spirit and supports their mission—perhaps a food bank or a local shelter. Your small act of generosity could ripple out in ways you might never see, yet trust that God multiplies our efforts for His Kingdom.
