Practical Steps for Missions - Illustration
As we reflect on Proverbs 3:5-6, which urges us to "trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding," let's not just view missions as a distant calling, but as a vibrant, active part of our daily lives. Picture yourself walking through your neighborhood, noticing the familiar faces but also the struggles lurking behind them. What if your next step in mission was as simple as reaching out to a neighbor who recently lost a job or inviting a single parent down the street for coffee?
This week, I encourage you to take a specific action. Choose one person you can serve in a tangible way—maybe it’s offering to babysit so they can have a break or sharing a meal to create space for conversation about their needs and dreams.
As you engage with those around you, pray for insight. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal where you might be called to act. Perhaps there’s a local organization, like a food bank or a community center, making a difference every day. Consider supporting them not just with financial donations, but with your time or talents.
And don’t let this journey be solitary. Use your experiences as a springboard for dialogue with friends and family. Share your stories, your challenges, and the joy you find in serving. Ask them how they envision their role in missions.
