Quiet Time: Immigration and Welcome - Prayer
Dear God of Love and Justice,
As I pause to reflect on the themes of Immigration and Welcome in my life today, I am struck by the profound truth embedded in Acts 10:34-35: "God shows no favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right." These words remind me that your love knows no borders, extending to every soul who walks this earth, each created in your divine image.
Help me to see the faces of the weary, the hopeful, and the displaced through your compassionate eyes. Picture the young mother clutching her child tightly at the border, her heart filled with both fear and hope. Imagine the elderly man who has been separated from his family, longing for a reunion that feels just out of reach. Where they see walls, may I see bridges—avenues of grace where love overcomes fear and welcomes the stranger as a brother or sister.
Guide me, Lord, to be a beacon of light in the shadows of indifference, radiating your hope and healing in every encounter. May my actions reflect your character, showing the world that true justice is rooted in agape, an unconditional love that embraces all. Empower me to work tirelessly for transformation, not just in my heart but in the communities around me, seeking justice that brings your shalom—wholeness and peace—to those in need.
