Quiet Time: Missions
Dear Heavenly Father,
As I pause to reflect on the mission you’ve entrusted to us, I find myself drawn to the powerful words of Matthew 25:31-46. In this passage, we see you, Lord, seated on your glorious throne, separating the sheep from the goats—those who fed the hungry, clothed the naked, and welcomed the stranger from those who turned away. It’s a striking image, isn’t it? The King of the universe, identifying with the least of these, reminding us that in serving others, we are serving you.
Help me, Lord, to view my life through your compassionate eyes. Let me see the heartache in the eyes of those around me, from the single mother struggling to make ends meet to the elderly neighbor who longs for companionship. May I not turn a blind eye or hide behind indifference. Instead, ignite in me a fierce desire to be a beacon of light in their darkness.
Imagine the transformation that occurs when we step out of our comfort zones, extending grace and love to those in need. Picture the warmth in a child’s smile as we provide a meal for their family or the relief on a weary face as we offer a listening ear. In these simple yet profound acts, we reflect your character and draw others closer to you.
