Quiet Time: Political Division & Unity
Dear Heavenly Father,
As I sit in quiet reflection today, I’m drawn to the profound truth in Galatians 3:28, where Paul reminds us that in Christ, there is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for we are all one in You. This verse is more than a mere statement; it’s a call to action in a world rife with division.
Imagine, for a moment, a vast tapestry woven from countless threads—each thread a person, each color representing a unique perspective, a different background, a distinct experience. Yet, what happens when those threads are torn apart by strife and misunderstanding? The beautiful design becomes a frayed mess, lacking coherence and beauty. But when we allow Your love to weave us together, we create something vibrant and resilient, a reflection of Your Kingdom here on earth.
Lord, in a time when political division can feel like an insurmountable chasm, help me to be a bridge. Let my words and actions reflect the grace You’ve extended to me. When I encounter those whose views clash with mine, may I engage not with anger, but with empathy. Help me to listen deeply and respond with compassion, remembering that every person is crafted in Your image, deserving of dignity and respect.
