Science Illustration: Limits of Human Knowledge
A few years ago, I visited a planetarium, where the vastness of the universe unfurled before me like a rich tapestry. As I sat in that dimly lit dome, the images of swirling galaxies and distant stars filled the screen, and I felt both small and awestruck. The guide spoke of black holes—mysterious entities that defy our understanding, where gravity is so intense that not even light can escape. He explained how scientists, despite their remarkable intellect and technology, still struggled to comprehend the full nature of these cosmic wonders.
As I listened, I couldn't help but draw a parallel to our own spiritual journey. In John 1:1-5, we read, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." Here, we encounter not just a concept but a profound mystery—the Word, or Logos, who holds all creation together, illuminating our paths and dark corners of uncertainty. Just as we can peer into the universe yet grasp its limits, we often find ourselves reaching for an understanding of God that stretches beyond our human capacity.
In moments of doubt or confusion, we are reminded that faith isn’t about having all the answers. Instead, it’s about trusting in the One who knows every star by name, who creates light to pierce through the darkest shadows of our lives. This humility, this awe, encourages us to seek spiritual growth, guiding us to lean not on our own understanding, but to rely on the everlasting wisdom of the Word, trusting that in Him, we find our truth.
