Science Illustration: Stewardship of Technology
A few years ago, I visited a local planetarium, captivated by the wonders of the universe. As the lights dimmed and the stars illuminated the dome above, I was struck by the sheer vastness of creation. The narrator spoke of distant galaxies, each one teeming with potential, yet all governed by precise laws of physics. It reminded me of Paul’s words in Romans 1:20, where he says, "For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen."
In that moment, I realized that this universe we inhabit is not just an assortment of random occurrences. Each star, each planet is a testament to God’s design and purpose. However, amid the awe, I felt a twinge of responsibility. If we are stewards of this creation, then how do we navigate the technology that allows us to explore it?
Consider the telescope—a tool that expands our sight and deepens our understanding of the heavens. It can either lead us to worship the Creator or distract us from His grandeur. When we harness technology, whether it's in scientific inquiry or daily life, we must ask ourselves: Are we using it to draw closer to God, to cultivate our spiritual growth, and to fulfill our purpose as His stewards?
In our quest for knowledge, let us remain humble, trusting that every discovery ultimately points us back to the One who crafted it all.
