Show Don't Tell: Luke 10:1-24
Instead of saying "Jesus sent out seventy-two disciples," watch Satan fall. The Lord appoints seventy-two others and sends them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he is about to go. "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few." Like lambs among wolves. Take no purse, no bag, no sandals. Don't greet anyone on the road—urgency. Whatever house you enter, stay there. Eat what is offered. Heal the sick and tell them the kingdom of God has come near. The seventy-two return with joy: "Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name." "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions... However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven." Then Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, praises the Father: "you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children." To the disciples privately: "Blessed are the eyes that see what you see."
