Show Don't Tell: Matthew 21:33-46
Instead of saying "Jesus told the parable of the wicked tenants," watch the violence escalate. A landowner plants a vineyard—every detail: wall, winepress, watchtower. He rents it to farmers and leaves. At harvest time, he sends servants to collect his fruit. The tenants beat one, kill another, stone a third. He sends more servants—same treatment. Finally, he sends his son: "They will respect my son." But they see him and plot: "This is the heir. Come, let's kill him and take his inheritance." They throw him out and kill him. Jesus asks: "When the owner comes, what will he do to those tenants?" "He will bring those wretches to a wretched end and rent the vineyard to others." Jesus: "Have you never read in the Scriptures: 'The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone'? The kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit." The chief priests and Pharisees know he's talking about them. They want to arrest him but fear the crowd.
