Show Don't Tell: Matthew 22:1-14
Instead of saying "Jesus told the parable of the wedding banquet," watch the invitations refused. A king prepares a wedding feast for his son. He sends servants to those invited—they refuse to come. He sends more servants: "The oxen and fattened cattle have been butchered. Everything is ready. Come to the banquet!" They pay no attention—one to his field, another to his business. Others seize the servants, mistreat them, kill them. The king is enraged. He sends his army, destroys those murderers, burns their city. Then to his servants: "Go to the street corners and invite anyone you find." They gather everyone—good and bad—the hall is full. But one guest has no wedding clothes. The king asks how he got in without proper attire. The man is speechless. "Tie him hand and foot, throw him outside into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." Many are invited, but few are chosen.
