Show Don't Tell: Matthew 24:36-51
Instead of saying "Jesus taught about being ready for his return," feel the surprise coming. "About that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." All prediction systems fail. "As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man." People eating, drinking, marrying—normal life—right up until Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and took them all away. Two men in a field: one taken, one left. Two women grinding: one taken, one left. "So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him." A faithful servant put in charge distributes food at the proper time—blessed when the master returns. But if that servant says, "My master is staying away a long time," and begins to beat others and get drunk—the master will come unexpectedly and cut him to pieces. Assigned with the hypocrites. Weeping and gnashing of teeth.
