Stand Firm in Freedom: Galatians 5:1-6
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
Freedom. Not as a means to an end. Not as a stepping stone to something else. Freedom itself is the goal.
Christ has set us free. Past tense. Accomplished. Done. The liberation happened at the cross, in the resurrection, at the moment of faith. We are already free.
Stand firm. The posture of the free. Not cowering, not cringing, not looking over your shoulder for the old master. Standing. Firm. Planted.
