Stored Where You Cannot See

Every night, while you sleep, your phone is quietly at work. If you use Apple's iCloud or Google Photos, your device encrypts your pictures — your daughter's first steps, your family reunion, that sunset you pulled over to capture — and sends them to data centers you will never visit. Massive facilities in places like Maiden, North Carolina, or Council Bluffs, Iowa, humming behind biometric locks and layers of security you will never inspect.

And yet you trust it. You trust it so completely that when your phone falls in a lake, your first thought is not panic. It is relief: "Everything is backed up."

Here is what strikes me. We hand over our most irreplaceable memories to a system we cannot see, maintained by people we have never met, housed in buildings we will never enter — and we sleep fine. But when God asks us to entrust Him with our future, our finances, our children, our grief, we hesitate. We want to inspect the servers first.

Proverbs 3:5 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding." Not with part of your heart. Not after you have verified every detail. All of it.

If you can trust a technology company with your baby's first smile, you can trust the Creator of the universe with your tomorrow. He has never lost a single thing entrusted to His care.
