O my Lord, how true it is that whoever works for Thee is paid in troubles! And what a precious price to those who love Thee if we understood its value. Let us enter into ourselves, my daughters. Let us not imagine that this interior castle has only one room. There are many rooms in it: some above, others below, others at the side. In the center, in the very midst of them all, is the chief room where the most secret things pass between God and the soul.
