The Blood of Martyrs as Seed - Anabaptist (Romans 8:28)
Thousands of Anabaptists were killed in the 16th century—drowned, burned, beheaded. Their persecutors expected to exterminate them. Instead, the martyrs' courage attracted others. As Tertullian said centuries earlier, "The blood of martyrs is seed." Today, millions of Mennonites, Amish, and peace churches trace their heritage to those who died. The executioners meant evil; God worked it for good. Romans 8:28 doesn't promise safety but meaning. The community remembers: suffering faithfully borne multiplies witness. What seems like ending becomes beginning.
