The Blood That Changes Your Identity

In the world of hematology, few procedures are as radical as a bone marrow transplant. When a patient with leukemia receives a donor's stem cells, something astonishing happens over the following weeks. The donor's marrow takes root inside the recipient's bones and begins producing entirely new blood. Gradually, every red cell, every white cell, every platelet is replaced.
