The Example of Faith - Story

Samantha stood at the edge of a bustling farmer's market, her heart racing as she watched families and friends gather, sharing laughter and fresh produce. Just a week prior, she had lost her job—a position she’d held for eight years. Doubt crept in like a shadow, whispering that her efforts to find a new path were futile. Yet, in the midst of uncertainty, she felt a gentle nudge to serve rather than sulk.

With a deep breath, she approached a local nonprofit booth that offered meals to those in need. As she stepped forward, she recalled the words from Galatians 5:22-23, where Paul speaks of the fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. “What if,” she thought, “I could embody these fruits in this moment?”

Samantha volunteered to help pack meals, her hands busy yet her heart lightened with every box filled. Conversations blossomed, and she learned stories of trials and triumphs from those around her. As she served, a quiet joy bubbled within her, replacing the doubt that had weighed her down.
