The Example of Gentleness - Story

There was a wise woman in our community named Mama Ruth, known for her gentle spirit and steadfast faith. Every morning, she'd sit on her porch, the sunlight casting a warm glow over her, and she’d pray for the neighborhood. Mama Ruth didn’t just pray; she embodied gentleness. You could see it in her interactions with everyone, from the children racing by to the weary souls who sought her counsel.

One day, a young man named Jamal came knocking on her door, frustrated and lost. He had made mistakes, and the weight of shame felt unbearable. “I don't know how to move forward, Mama Ruth. I feel like I’ve messed everything up,” he confessed, his voice trembling.

Mama Ruth looked at him, her eyes filled with compassion, and said, “Jamal, it's not about how far you’ve fallen but about how gentle the Lord's hand is in lifting you back up. Remember, charis—grace—has brought you here today.”
