The Example of Justice - Story
There once was a small village where a beloved elder named Thomas spent his days tending to a community garden. This garden was more than a patch of earth; it was a sanctuary for all, a place where neighbors gathered to share stories, laughter, and, yes, even their burdens. Thomas, with hands calloused from toil, always emphasized one principle: “Justice is not just a concept; it’s a relationship.”
One summer, a great drought hit the village. Crops withered, hope dwindled, and tensions rose as people began to fear for their livelihoods. In a moment of desperation, someone accused another of hoarding water, igniting a fierce argument. Voices grew louder, hearts hardened, and the community seemed on the brink of collapse.
But Thomas, with unwavering faith, called everyone to the garden. As they gathered beneath the shade of a large oak tree, he urged them to join hands in a circle. “Let us stand together,” he said softly, “and remember that justice, like this garden, requires tending. We must nurture our relationships, not tear them apart.”
As they prayed and sought God’s guidance, a gentle rain began to fall. It was as if the heavens were responding to their unity. Slowly, they learned to trust one another again, sharing what little they had. Romans 8:28 reminds us that God works all things together for good for those who love Him. In that moment, they discovered that justice flourishes not in accusation, but in relationship, faith, and the shared purpose of love, coming together as one body in Christ.
