The Example of Perseverance - Story

Margaret was a beloved member of our congregation, known for her unwavering faith and gentle spirit. As a widow living alone, she often wrestled with feelings of loneliness and uncertainty. Yet, she never let those feelings conquer her. Instead, she chose to see them as opportunities for service.

Every Thursday afternoon, without fail, Margaret would make her way to the local nursing home. She carried with her a basket filled with homemade cookies and cards that bore words of encouragement. "God has not given us a spirit of fear," she would often remind herself, drawing strength from 2 Timothy 1:7. Her heart was set on sharing the warmth of Christ’s love with those who felt forgotten.

One particular Thursday, as she entered the familiar corridor, she noticed a new resident in the corner room. He sat alone, eyes downcast. Margaret felt a gentle nudge from the Holy Spirit—this was her moment. She approached him, introduced herself, and offered him a cookie.
