The Example of Salvation - Contemporary Example

A few months ago, I attended a local community festival, where a humble artist set up a small booth. Intrigued by her vibrant paintings, I approached and began to chat. She shared that her work was inspired by her journey from darkness to light. Not too long ago, she had been lost in despair, struggling with addiction and the weight of regret. But one evening, while sitting alone in her dimly lit apartment, she recalled an old Bible verse her grandmother used to recite: “You are the light of the world” (Matthew 5:14).

That night, she cried out to God, yearning for purpose and illumination. In that moment of surrender, she felt an overwhelming warmth fill her heart, an assurance that God was reaching out to her. From that day forward, her life transformed. She began to worship with fervor, painting not just pictures but expressions of her newfound faith.

As she spoke, her eyes sparkled with joy, likening her work to the fruit described in Galatians 5:22-23. She explained that each painting radiated agape love, joy, and peace—fruits born from her salvation.
