The Funeral Psalm That Is Really About Life - Anglican (Psalm 23)

Psalm 23 is the most requested scripture at funerals. But notice: it's about life, not death. Green pastures, still waters, paths of righteousness—all present tense. Even "the valley of the shadow of death" is passed THROUGH, not stayed in. "I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever"—that's the destination. We read it at funerals not because it's about dying but because it promises what comes after: forever with the Shepherd. Death is just one valley on the journey home.
