The God Who Repairs What Is Broken

Every second, your DNA sustains tens of thousands of lesions — damage from ultraviolet light, oxidative stress, and the simple wear of being alive. If left unrepaired, these breaks would be catastrophic. Your cells would malfunction. Your body would unravel.

But here is the astonishing thing: God built a repair system directly into your biology. In 2015, Tomas Lindahl, Paul Modrich, and Aziz Sancar won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for mapping how cells detect and fix damaged DNA. Lindahl discovered that specialized enzymes patrol your genetic code like watchmen on a wall, snipping out corrupted segments and rebuilding them with the correct sequence. The broken strand is not discarded. It is restored.

Think about that. The Almighty did not design a system that throws away what is damaged. He designed a system that finds the break, removes the corruption, and writes the original code back into place.

This is the gospel written into our very cells. Redemption is not God starting over with someone new. Redemption is God reaching into the wreckage of your life, identifying exactly where things went wrong, cutting away what is corrupted, and restoring you to what He always intended you to be.

Paul said it plainly: "If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come" (2 Corinthians 5:17). Not a different person — a restored one. The same strand, made whole. The same you, redeemed.
