The Innumerable Multitude: Revelation 7:9-17
After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb.
Interlude between the sixth and seventh seals. And what an interlude. A multitude—not hundreds, not thousands, but numberless. Every nation. Every tribe. Every people. Every language. The scope of redemption made visible.
They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.
White robes—the righteousness of Christ given to them. Palm branches—the symbol of victory, of celebration, of festival. The imagery of Feast of Tabernacles, of triumph, of joy.
