The Kingdom's Hidden Power: Leaven Working Within
"The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven." This parable reveals three essential truths about God's transformative work.
First, the power to raise humanity must come from without—from the Divine. Humanity possesses no self-leavening capacity. Remove the influences flowing from Scripture, and our moral elevation collapses. We require an energy distinctly from Elohim [God] to elevate our condition.
Second, this leaven must lodge and work within. Hidden in the meal, the leaven operates invisibly, addressing what external reform cannot touch. The chief mischief of mankind lies within—in ignorance, selfishness, and misery. These internal conditions cannot be counteracted by circumstantial change alone; they demand an inward working force.
Third, observe the penetrative and diffusive power. The leaven spreads gradually until the whole is leavened. This occurs not instantaneously but through gradual infection—an emblem of the gospel's spread in the soul. Believers do not become perfect at once; the Kingdom's work operates person to person, where leaven produces palpable effects.
