The Last Watch of the Octopus Mother

It was a total pouring out — body broken, life spent — for children who would not fully understand the price until long after it was paid.
Paul wrote, "Rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:7-8).
The next time sacrifice feels costly, remember: the deepest love has always looked like someone giving everything so that others might live.
