The Moravians' 100-Year Prayer - Missional (Matthew 28:18-20)
In 1727, the Moravian community at Herrnhut began a prayer meeting that continued 24/7 for over 100 years. From that prayer came missionaries—the first Protestant missionaries to slaves in the Caribbean, to Greenland, to Africa. Within 20 years, they had sent more missionaries than all Protestants combined in the previous 200 years. The Great Commission was fueled by non-stop prayer. "All authority in heaven and earth"—they accessed that authority through intercession. Mission without prayer is activism; prayer without mission is incomplete. The Moravians did both.
