The Password You Never See

Every time you log into your bank account, something remarkable happens behind the scenes. Your password never actually travels across the internet. Instead, a system called cryptographic hashing transforms it into an unreadable string of characters before it ever leaves your device. The bank never stores your actual password either — only this encrypted version. You trust the system completely, entering your most sensitive credentials into a little box on a screen, confident that layers of protection you cannot see are working on your behalf.

This is how faith operates. When we place our trust in God, we are not trusting what we can fully observe or comprehend. We are trusting that behind the scenes — in the invisible architecture of Providence — El Shaddai is working through layers of grace we cannot perceive. Just as TLS encryption wraps every keystroke in protection before it crosses the wire, God's sovereignty wraps our fragile lives in purposes we may never fully trace.

The remarkable thing about modern encryption is that its strength depends entirely on the key holder. A 256-bit key is unbreakable not because of anything we do, but because of the mathematical nature of the key itself. Our security rests not in our grip on God, but in His grip on us. We trust not because we understand every layer of His working, but because we know the One who holds the key is faithful.
