The Power of Gentleness - Story
On the edge of a small village, there lived a gentle potter named Eli. He had a gift for shaping clay into exquisite vessels, but what truly set him apart was his unwavering patience. One day, a young man named Samuel visited Eli’s workshop, burdened by the weight of the world. Samuel had been wrestling with doubts about his faith, feeling as though he was being tested beyond his limits.
As Eli worked on a new piece, he invited Samuel to watch. “Do you see this clay?” he asked, holding up a lump of earth. “It’s rough and unremarkable, much like our trials.” With careful hands, Eli began to shape the clay. With each gentle push and pull, the clay transformed, becoming more beautiful with every moment. “Gentleness is powerful,” Eli explained. “It’s in the pressure that we find our purpose. Just as this clay must be molded, we too are being shaped by our experiences.”
Samuel watched in awe, realizing that his struggles were not signs of abandonment but opportunities for growth. Eli continued, “1 Corinthians 13:4-7 teaches us that love is patient and kind. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
Inspired, Samuel felt a sense of peace wash over him. He understood that his faith would be tested, but like the clay, he could trust the gentle hands of the Potter. In that moment, he found the strength to embrace his journey, confident that God was shaping him for a purpose far greater than he could imagine.
