The Power of Goodness - Story
There’s a humble gardener in our town, known for her vibrant flowerbeds that seem to sing with color every spring. But what many don’t realize is the story behind those blooms. Each winter, she works tirelessly, turning over the soil, removing rocks, and adding compost, nurturing life hidden beneath the surface. It’s a labor of love, requiring patience and faith.
One year, a particularly harsh winter came, and she feared her efforts would be in vain. The frost seemed unyielding, and she wondered if any seeds would survive. Yet, she continued to care for the garden, believing that life was still at work, even if she couldn’t see it.
When spring arrived, the ground erupted in a riot of color, more beautiful than ever. Among the flowers, she spotted a delicate new bloom, one she had never planted. It was a wildflower, a gift from the earth that had taken root in the darkness. It reminded her that goodness often comes in unexpected forms, in ways we might not foresee.
This gardener’s journey mirrors our own spiritual lives. As Paul writes in 2 Timothy 1:7, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.” In moments of doubt, remember that God is working beneath the surface of our lives. With patience and faith, we can trust in the transformation happening within us. Just as the flowers burst forth, so too will the goodness of God, revealing the beauty that comes from His grace.
