The Power of Humility - Story
On a crisp autumn morning, I found myself at a local park, watching a group of children fly kites. Each kite danced joyfully against the bright blue sky, soaring high with vibrant colors. Yet, amidst the laughter and shouts of delight, I noticed one little girl who stood apart, carefully observing her friends. Her kite was simple, handmade, and not particularly eye-catching.
As her friends’ kites tumbled through the air, she took a deep breath and whispered a prayer. With a tender heart and a humble spirit, she refused to let envy darken her day. Instead, she focused on the wind, the gentle pull guiding her kite upward. With each measured tug of the string, her gaze was set on the sky, not on who flew higher or faster.
The moment came when her kite caught a powerful gust. It rose with unexpected grace, soaring higher than she had imagined. I was struck by a beautiful truth that day: it was her humility that opened the way for her kite to ascend.
In Galatians 5:22-23, we learn that humility is a vital fruit of the Spirit, leading to joy and purpose in our spiritual journey. Just as that little girl found her guidance through humility, we too are invited to let go of our pride and trust in God’s direction. When we seek His way, even the simplest among us can rise to heights we never dreamed possible. May we embrace humility, allowing it to guide our growth and purpose, lighting the path toward the life God has always intended for us.
