The Power of Wisdom - Biblical Analogy
There’s a story from the heart of the South, where the mighty oak trees stand tall, their roots entwined deep in the earth, holding fast against the fiercest storms. One day, a wise elder from the community gathered the children under one of those grand oaks and began to speak. He pointed to the expansive branches and said, “Look at this tree, children. It didn’t grow overnight. It took years of rain, sun, and strong winds. Each season shaped it, made it stronger, and more beautiful.”
He continued, “Just like this oak, wisdom grows in us through our experiences, our trials, and our faith. Here’s the key: each of you has a purpose, a calling from God. In John 3:16, we read that God gave His only Son so that we might have eternal life. That gift is also a promise of wisdom and guidance. Just as the tree absorbs the nutrients from the soil, we absorb God’s love and wisdom when we open our hearts and minds to Him.”
The elder smiled, seeing the children’s eyes light up with understanding. “When the storms of life come—and they will—remember that your roots are grounded in faith. Like that oak, you will withstand the winds, and with time, you too shall grow strong and wise. So stand tall, lean into your purpose, and let God’s wisdom guide you.” In that moment, hope blossomed in the hearts of those children, just as it does in ours when we embrace the divine love and purpose woven into our very beings.
