The Road That Recalculates
If you have ever missed a highway exit, you know the voice. Google Maps does not scold you. It does not say, "I told you to turn back there." It does not shut down in frustration or make you pull over and apologize before it will help you again. It simply says one word: "Recalculating."
Within seconds, it has already charted a new route from exactly where you are — not from where you should have been, not from where you started, but from the precise coordinates of your wrong turn. The destination never changed. Only the path updated.
That is a portrait of grace.
We serve a God who does not stand at the missed exit, arms crossed, waiting for us to somehow reverse down the highway of our failures. The Almighty meets us in the middle of our detour. Psalm 32:8 says, "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you." He recalculates from where we actually are — bruised, lost, three exits past where we meant to be — and He still gets us home.
The difference, of course, is that God is not an algorithm. He is a Father. And unlike any navigation app, He was never surprised by your wrong turn in the first place. His route always accounted for your wandering. His grace was already recalculating before you ever missed the exit.
