The Signal We Cannot Carry Alone

If you have ever struggled with a dead zone in your house — that one corner where the WiFi simply refuses to reach — you understand the frustration of isolation. The router in your living room broadcasts its signal, but walls and distance weaken it until it disappears entirely.

The solution is something called a mesh network. Companies like Google and Amazon now sell systems where multiple small devices spread throughout your home each pick up the signal and pass it along, strengthening it as they go. No single device carries the whole burden. Each one receives, amplifies, and shares. The result is coverage that reaches every room, every corner, every forgotten space where the signal once died.

The Apostle Paul described the church in remarkably similar terms. "From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work" (Ephesians 4:16). We are not meant to be a single router broadcasting alone. We are a mesh — each member receiving the grace of God and passing it forward, amplifying it for the person in the next room, the next pew, the next season of grief.

Some of you are standing in a dead zone right now. You feel like the signal has gone cold. But that is exactly why the Almighty did not design the faith for solo operation. We carry the signal to each other. That is the church — not a building, but a living network where no one stays out of range for long.
