The Star That Knows Its Place

In 2018, astronomers confirmed something remarkable about a star called S2. This star orbits the supermassive black hole at the center of our Milky Way galaxy, traveling at nearly 25 million kilometers per hour. At that speed, you could circle the Earth in less than six seconds. Yet S2 does not fly off into the void. It does not wander. It holds its orbit with stunning precision, tracing the same elliptical path it has followed for millions of years.

S2 has no awareness, no ambition, no anxiety about whether it matters. It simply fulfills the role written into the fabric of creation.
