The Stars as Teachers of Divine Obedience
The heavens declare not merely the glory of Elohim, but His exacting order. Consider the stars—our starry monitors—fixed in their courses by divine decree. They instruct us in three profound lessons.
First, they teach us SERVICE. Though we cannot shine with their brightness, we are called to occupy our assigned place with faithfulness. The smallest star fulfills its purpose as surely as the greatest, neither ambitious nor despairing.
Second, they teach us REGARD FOR GOD'S WILL. Every celestial body moves in strict obedience to ordinances established before time began. Not one star deviates from its prescribed path. How often do we, bearing reason and conscience, neglect the will written plain before us?
Third, they teach us CONTINUANCE. The stars do not shine for a season and fade. Night after night, age after age, they maintain their witness. The word diastole—steadfast continuation—describes their unwavering commitment. They persist "according to thine ordinances," as the Psalmist declares.
