The Step You Cannot See
In Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Harrison Ford's character faces an impossible moment. His father is dying from a gunshot wound, and the only hope is to reach the Holy Grail hidden deep inside a mountain temple. But to get there, Indy must pass a final test — the Leap of Faith. He stands at the edge of a vast chasm, hundreds of feet deep, with no visible bridge, no rope, no path forward. His father's journal simply says he must believe the bridge is there.
Everything in Indy's body screams not to step off that ledge. Every rational instinct says this is suicide. But with his father's life hanging in the balance, he closes his eyes, lifts his foot, and steps into empty air. His boot lands on solid stone — a bridge perfectly camouflaged against the canyon walls. It was there the whole time. He just couldn't see it from where he stood.
Proverbs 3:5 tells us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding." Sometimes the Almighty asks us to take a step when we cannot see where our foot will land. The bridge of His faithfulness is already in place — we simply cannot see it from where we are standing. The question is never whether God has made a way. The question is whether we will lift our foot.
