The Step You Cannot See
In Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, there is a moment that has stayed with audiences for decades. Indiana Jones stands at the edge of a yawning chasm, his wounded father dying behind him, the Holy Grail somewhere on the other side. His father's notebook offers only a cryptic instruction: "Only in the leap from the lion's head will he prove his worth."
Indiana looks down. There is nothing there — just a sheer drop into darkness. No bridge. No rope. No visible path forward.
He closes his eyes, presses his fist to his chest, and lifts his foot over empty air.
And then — stone. Solid, ancient stone beneath his boot. A bridge perfectly camouflaged against the canyon floor, invisible until the moment he stepped.
