Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.

The Sermon on the Mount was nearly complete. Jesus had taught about blessing and salt, about anger and lust, about enemies and prayer, about worry and judgment. Now came the conclusion—and it was about response.

Everyone who hears these words. Not "everyone who generally agrees" or "everyone who finds this inspiring." Everyone who hears and does.
