The Voice That Never Gives Up on You

Every driver knows that moment. You miss the exit on the highway, or you turn left when the directions clearly said right. Maybe you weren't paying attention. Maybe you thought you knew a better way. But here is what Google Maps never does — it never says, "I'm done with you. Find your own way home."

Instead, you hear two quiet words: "Recalculating route."

No lecture about the turn you missed three miles back. No reminder of how many times you have ignored its guidance before. The satellite signal does not weaken because of your stubbornness. The system simply meets you exactly where you are and charts a new path forward.

Grace works like that, only deeper.

The Apostle Paul knew something about wrong turns. He was heading full speed toward Damascus with murder warrants in his pocket when the Lord intercepted him — not to condemn him, but to redirect him. God did not wait for Paul to find his way back. He met Paul on the wrong road and said, in essence, "Recalculating."

That is the nature of the God we serve. Jehovah does not abandon us at the point of our failure. He does not require us to backtrack to the last place we were obedient before He will speak to us again. He meets us in the missed turn, in the wrong lane, in the dead end of our own choosing — and He charts a new route toward home.

Your detour is not the end of your journey. The Voice is still speaking.
