The Wise Shall Understand God's Righteous Ways
Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? Before we can comprehend Divine truths, there must be prudence and wisdom illuminating the mind from within. A man proves himself truly wise by his relishing of Divine truths; otherwise, he possesses no wisdom in matters that constitute the main.
The prophet defends the equity of Elohim's ways, however crooked they may appear to flesh and blood. By "ways," he means the whole law and Gospel—the entire Word of Yahweh—which he calls right not merely because they are righteous in themselves, but because they reform whatsoever is amiss in us and work all that is needful for our good and salvation. The ways of Adonai are those wherein He walks toward us and those He prescribes us to walk in.
The just shall walk in these ways. They are just who give to every one their due and render God His due—such as respect all Elohim's commandments and act toward the glory of Adonai and the good of man. They desire to grow in grace and love the brethren. Even in the worst times, Yahweh preserves a people that justify wisdom.
Yet the same word that brings life and salvation to the godly becomes an occasion of sin and perdition unto the wicked. The Word of Adonai is perfect in every way and brings us to perfection. The best course toward a right end is to take Elohim's ways—the safest, most pleasant, and holiest of all paths.
