Thinking About Salvation - Church Context

When we turn to Jeremiah 29:11, we find a divinely inspired promise that resonates deeply amidst our collective journey of faith: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” This verse, rooted in a historical context of exile, reminds us that even when circumstances seem bleak, God’s intentions toward us are filled with hope and purpose.

As we reflect on salvation within our church community, we see that it is not merely an individual journey but a collective pilgrimage. Salvation is woven into the very fabric of our church life, inviting each of us to grow spiritually and to lean into the guidance of God's Word. Just as the exiled Israelites were called to build homes and seek peace in Babylon, we too are called to cultivate a vibrant community that reflects God's hesed—His steadfast love and faithfulness.
