Rose finds a floating door but Jack stays in the freezing water, ensuring she survives. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends. The freezing Atlantic became a baptismal font of ultimate love. Jack could have fought for the door; he chose Rose's life over his own. In the kingdom, the greatest are those who serve. Jack served unto death. That is the love that saves.
