Trusting Beyond Our Assumptions - Progressive (Proverbs 3:5-6)

A suburban church decided to partner with an inner-city congregation. The suburban members brought assumptions about what their partners "needed"—food drives, tutoring, career help. "Lean not on your own understanding." When they actually listened, they discovered the urban church had wisdom to offer THEM: about community, resilience, and faith under pressure. The partnership became mutual, transforming both congregations. Trusting God means questioning our assumptions—especially about who has wisdom to give. God's paths often overturn our hierarchies.
