Twenty Thousand Miles of Trust
When you open Google Maps and follow that blue line through an unfamiliar city, you are performing a quiet act of faith. You are trusting signals beamed from at least four satellites orbiting 12,550 miles above your head — satellites you have never seen, built by engineers you have never met, using mathematics most of us could not begin to explain. And it works. It guides you within a few feet of your destination.
But here is the moment that tests your trust: when the voice says, "Turn right," and the road ahead looks wrong. A narrow alley. A dirt path where you expected a highway. Everything inside you says, "That cannot be right." You grip the wheel, second-guess the screen, and sometimes override the guidance entirely. And almost every time you do, you end up circling, backtracking, arriving frustrated and late.
Proverbs 3:5–6 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight."
God sees what we cannot. He sees the closed road three miles ahead. He knows the shortcut through the valley. His vantage point is not twelve thousand miles up — it is eternal. When the Almighty says turn, the path may look unfamiliar. It may look foolish. But He has never miscalculated, never lost signal, and never once guided a trusting heart to the wrong destination.
