What Light Had Been Hiding All Along

In 1905, a twenty-six-year-old clerk at the Swiss Federal Patent Office in Bern submitted a paper to the journal Annalen der Physik that would reshape humanity's understanding of the universe. Albert Einstein's "On the Electrodynamics of Moving Bodies" revealed that time itself is not fixed — it stretches and contracts depending on how fast you move. Space and time, he demonstrated, are woven together into a single fabric.

What is remarkable is that the clues had been there for decades. James Clerk Maxwell's electromagnetic equations, published in the 1860s, already contained the hints. The Michelson-Morley experiment of 1887 had produced results that baffled physicists for nearly twenty years. The evidence was hiding in plain sight, waiting for someone willing to follow it wherever it led.

Proverbs 25:2 says, "It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings." The Almighty embedded the laws of relativity into the fabric of creation from the beginning. He did not hide them to frustrate us but to invite us into the joy of discovery.

God has concealed glories throughout His creation and throughout His Word — not to keep us in the dark, but to draw us into the search.
