When Faithfulness - Story

There once was a woman in our community named Sister Clara. She was a faithful servant in the church, always seen organizing events, supporting those in need, and sharing the love of Christ with everyone she encountered. But life had not been easy for her. For years, she struggled under the weight of health issues that sapped her strength and joy. Many times, I saw her sitting in the back, her body weary but her spirit unwavering.

One Sunday, I noticed that Sister Clara had not been in her usual spot. Concerned, I visited her at home, where I found her lying in bed, frail and weak. I asked her how she was doing, and with a glimmer of light in her eyes, she replied, “Pastor, I am still waiting for my wings.” She went on to tell me about the prayers she'd been lifting up, not just for herself, but for others going through trials. “I know God is faithful,” she said. “And He is preparing me for something greater.”

Her faith resonated deeply with me, echoing the promise of Isaiah 40:31, which tells us that those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength, soaring on wings like eagles. Sister Clara may have felt grounded by her circumstances, but her spirit was unfettered.

Weeks later, I saw her again, this time serving at our church’s outreach program, fully engaged and filled with a renewed energy. She reminded us all that faithfulness during trials leads to spiritual growth and the favor of God. Her journey was a testament: when we stay faithful, God lifts us up, transforming our trials into testimonies.
