When Gentleness - Biblical Analogy
There’s a small garden at the edge of my neighbor's yard that blooms every spring with the most vibrant flowers. Each year, I watch as she tends to it with a gentle hand. It’s not her strength that brings life to those plants, but her unwavering patience and tenderness. She knows that if she pulls the weeds too roughly or tries to rush the process, she might damage the delicate roots beneath the soil.
One day, I noticed her kneeling beside a struggling rose bush, whispering softly to it. As I approached, I asked her why she spoke to the plants. With a smile, she replied, “They respond to love, just like we do.” In that moment, I was reminded of John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son.” God’s love is gentle, yet it holds the power to transform our very lives.
As seasons change, we often face storms of uncertainty and periods of waiting. It takes courage to trust that God is nurturing us in the quiet moments, just as my neighbor nurtures her garden. When we feel weak, we must lean into His gentleness, understanding that He is lovingly tending to our hearts. In those moments of change and growth, let us be assured that His love is steadfast and perfect. Like my neighbor’s garden, we too will bloom when we embrace the gentle tending of our Creator, confident in His promise to guide us through every season of life.
